Druid Hills and Redan are the state playoff openers out of 17 DCSD Soccer teams starting the state playoffs this week with games on Tuesday.

The Druid Hills Lady Red Devils (8-8-0), the Region 4-4A No. 2 seed, host the first round of the Class 4A girls’ playoffs playing Region 2-4A No. 3 seed Howard (9-5-1). The game is set for a 6:00 pm start at Hallford Stadium.

Redan (11-3-0) travels to Class 3A No. 2 ranked Greater Atlanta Christian (11-5-2) for a 5:30 pm start in Class 3A girls’ action.

A pair of boys’ teams get into the state playoff action on Wednesday. Druid Hills (12-6-0), the No. 1 seed from Region 4-4A and No. 2 ranked team in Class 4A, faces off with Region 2-4A No. 4 seed Spalding (6-8-3) in a 7:30 pm game set for Adams Stadium.

In Class 3A boys’ play, Stone Mountain (9-4-1), the Region 5-3A No. 3 seed, travels to No. 3 ranked East Hall (14-4-0), the No. 3 ranked team in Class 3A, for a 6:30 pm game.

Thursday’s schedule features a double-header at Hallford Stadium as the Region 4-6A boys’ and girls’ champions from Tucker play their Class 6A opening round games.

The Tigers and Lady Tigers won their region in the same year for the first time in history and both take on the Region 2-6A No. 4 seeds from Brunswick. The Lady Tigers (11-6-0) and Brunswick (3-12-0) open the doubleheader with a 5:30 start with the Tigers (11-7-0) face Brunswick (3-14-0) follow at 7:30 pm.

Another home game on Thursday include the Martin Luther King Jr. Lady Lions (14-3-1), the Region 4-6A No. 2 seed, taking on Region 2-6A No. 3 seed Effingham Co. (14-3-0) in a 6:00 pm game at Godfrey Stadium.

Region 5-5A girls’ champ Chamblee (11-3-2) hosts Region 7-5A No. 4 seed Kell (7-8-0) in a 5:30 pm game at Adams Stadium.

There are four road games on tap for Thursday led by the Region 7-7A No. 3 seed Lakeside Lady Vikings (9-6-2) travelling to Region 5-5A No. 2 seed and No. 2 ranked South Forsyth (15-3-0) for a 6:00 pm game.

In Class 6A girls’ state playoff action, the Region 4-6A No. 3 seed Stephenson Lady Jaguars (9-8-0) travel to No. 10 ranked Glynn Academy (12-3-1), the No. 2 seed from Region 2-6A with the game time set for 6:00 pm.

A pair of DeKalb teams in Region 5-5A hit the road in the first round of the Class 5A girls’ state playoffs as Arabia Mountain (12-3-0), the No. 3 seed, takes on host Rome (9-9-0) at 6:00 pm and Southwest DeKalb (7-6-0) goes to Region 7-5A No. 1 seed and Class 5A No. 7 ranked Paulding County (14-3-0) in a game also set for 6:00 pm.

Five Class 5A teams from DeKalb County get into the first round action on Friday with a Cross Keys boys’/girls’ doubleheader at Adams Stadium.

The Region 5-5A girls’ No. 2 seed Lady Indians (7-5-0) start the night off entertaining Region 7-5A No. 3 seed Carrollton (6-12-0) at 5:30 pm followed by the No. 7 ranked and No. 2 seed Indians (11-4-1) hosting Villa Rica (10-4-2) at 7:30 pm.

Region 5-5A boys’ champions and No. 2 ranked Clarkston Angoras (15-1-1) host Cass (5-10-0) in a 6:00 pm start at Hallford Stadium.

Chamblee (6-8-2) travels to No. 9 ranked Rome (10-4-1) in Class 5A boys’ play with a 7:30 pm start and Arabia Mountain (7-7-0) goes to No. 4 ranked Carrollton (13-2-0) in another Class 5A boys’ state playoff tilt set for 6:00 pm.
