Four home games and four road games make up a light Week 7 schedule of eight games for DeKalb County high school football teams this weekend.

The Class 6A No. 9 ranked Tucker Tigers headline the home slate with a Region 4-6A and homecoming matchup against the Mundy’s Mill Tigers at 7:30 pm at Adams Stadium on Friday.

The Tigers (4-1, 2-0) are coming off a 55-0 victory over region and DeKalb rivals Martin Luther King Jr. Lions. Quarterback Xavier Shephard (32-54 passing, 652 yards, 7 TDs, 0 Int) and receiver Josh Vann (18 receptions, 365 yards, 5 TDs) connected on a pair of touchdown passes to lead Tucker to the victory.

Running backs Chris Broadwater (420 yards rushing, 7 TDs) and Taurean Taylor (306 yards rushing, 6 TDs) are big threats on the ground for the Tigers.

Defensive linemen Antonio Showers (4 sacks) and Aaron Sterling (7 tackles for a loss) lead the defense for Tucker and both also have an interception, Showers’ play went for a touchdown.

Senior quarterback Kaziah Hall runs the Mundy’s Mill offense hitting on 30 of 63 passes for 432 yards and 7 TDs without an interception. Receiver Armani Donaldson is Hall’s main target through the air with 17 receptions for 252 yards.

The Stephenson Jaguars (2-3, 1-1) are trying to solidify a playoff spot out of Region 4-6A and host Jonesboro (0-5, 0-2) at Hallford Stadium with kickoff set for 7:30 pm on Friday.

Senior running back Jaylen Marson-Knight is the workhorse in the backfield for the Jaguars with 540 yards rushing and 5 TDs through five games this season.

Quarterback D’Vonn Gibbons had 556 yards passing and 6 TDs while hitting on 32 of 63 passes this season. Senior receivers Khalil Newton (10 receptions, 247 yards, 4 TDs) and Hassan Littles (6 receptions, 231 yards, 2 TDs) are Gibbons’ top two targets.

Senior linebackers Michael Makins and Gethro George lead the Jaguar defense while combining for over 90 tackles and over 10 tackles for a loss.

In other Region 4-6A action the Martin Luther King Jr. Lions (2-3, 0-2) entertain Drew (1-4, 1-1) in a 7:30 pm game at Godfrey Stadium on Friday.

Cross Keys (0-1) hosting Pataula Charter (0-4) in a 5:15 kickoff at North DeKalb Stadium is the only other home game this weekend.

Away games include Lakeside (4-1, 1-0) traveling to Central Gwinnett in Region 7-7A, Dunwoody (2-2, 1-1) at Northview (0-4, 0-2) in Region 7-6A, Druid Hills (2-3, 0-1) against Region 4-4A foe Eastside (3-1-1, 1-0) at Sharp Stadium and Clarkston (0-6) traveling to Thomson (4-0). All games are on Friday with kickoffs set for 7:30 pm.
