Deandre Shivers scored three touchdowns to the lead the Freedom Rams to a 40-0 region victory over the Sequoyah Braves last Saturday.

Shivers finished the day with 52 yards on five carries and the three touchdowns for the undefeated Rams (3-0, 1-0) who move on to face Region 1 foe Druid  Hills (1-2, 0-1) which dropped a 38-20 decision to Henderson (1-2, 1-0) last weekend. The game is set for 11:30 am at North DeKalb Stadium.

Carl Wilson joined Shivers in the scoring with 3 carries for 39 yards and a touchdown and Keith Titus scored on a 7-yard run.

The Rams defense was led by Wilson with four tackles while Javon Titus and Xavier Wright had three tackles apiece.

Sequoyah (0-3, 0-1) takes on Chamblee (0-2, 0-0) in Week 2 of region play on Saturday at North DeKalb Stadium with kickoff set for 10:00 am.

Columbia 20, Salem 6
Three explosive touchdown runs by the Columbia Eagles (1-2, 1-0) were the difference in their 20-6 Region 4 victory over the Salem Lions (0-3, 0-1) last weekend.

Daronte Bryant struck for touchdown runs of 60 and 40 yards to lead the Eagles while teammate Walter Bowles scored from 50 yards out.

Columbia faces two-time defending Trail to the Title champ Cedar Grove (1-1, 0-0) on Saturday in a 10:0 am game at Godfrey Stadium. Salem takes on McNair (), in the 1:00 pm game at Godfrey in another Region 4 contest.

Tucker 42, Redan 0
Quarterback/defensive back Keeman Hayes accounted for four touchdowns to lead the Tucker Tigers (3-0, 1-0) to a Region 2 42-0 win over the Redan Raiders (1-2, 0-1).

Hayes threw for two touchdowns, rushed for a third and returned an interception on defense 80 yards for a touchdown to lead the Tigers. Randy Britt who had a pair of rushing touchdowns had one of the receiving scores and Zion Alexander had 100 all-purpose yards, including a 58-yard touchdown reception from Hayes.

Dawson Rivers had a fumble recovery and sack and Donovan Williams contributed an interception to lead the Tucker defense.

Jaden Lee had six tackles and Marcus Abney added 4 tackles, including 2 for a loss to lead the Raiders. Redan takes on undefeated Peachtree (3-0, 1-0) in a Region 2 game at 1:00 pm on Saturday at Avondale Stadium.

Miller Grove 8, Lithonia 6
The Miller Grove Wolverines defense came up big in an 8-6 Region 3 victory over the Lithonia Bulldogs last weekend.

A 45-yard touchdown pass from Donsay Brown to Denylon Morrissette and a two-point conversion provided the Wolverines (3-0, 1-0) with all the points they would need behind their tough defense.

Miller Grove is off this weekend while Lithonia (1-2, 0-1) returns to action hosting Renfroe (1-2, 0-1) in an 11:30 am kickoff at Avondale Stadium on Saturday.

Henderson 38, Druid Hills 20
The Henderson Cougars picked up their first win of the season with a 38-20 victory over the Druid Hills Dragons on Saturday.

Henderson (1-2, 1-0) opened Region 1 action with the win.

Antonio Hayes JR. scored two touchdowns and a two-point conversion from his quarterback position for the Dragons (1-2, 0-1). Titus Pitts scored remaining touchdown for the Dragons and Remario Clinton again rushed for over 50 yards in the contest. Gary Bailey had a fumble recovery for the Dragons’ defense.

Peachtree 13, Champion 12
The Peachtree Patriots survived a tough test against the Champion Chargers as they held on for a 13-12 Region 2 victory on Saturday to remain undefeated.

EJ Walker scored on a 53-yard touchdown in the first quarter for the Chargers (1-2, 0-1) and Cecil Davis pulled the Chargers within 13-12 in the third quarter, but a fumble on the two-point conversion proved costly in the one-point loss.

Jordan Grier who had a pair of interceptions on defense for Champion had a kickoff return for a touchdown called back which could have propelled the Chargers to the win. Joseph Roberts added an interception and Lamarr Randolph had 25 yards receiving for the Chargers.

Peachtree (3-0, 1-0) continues Region 2 action as trip to Avondale Stadium to face off Redan (1-2, 0-1) looms at 1:00 pm on Saturday. Champion which has lost two games by a total of 5 points (6-2 to Freedom, 13-12 to Peachtree) hosts Stone Mountain at Avondale in a 10:00 am game.

Bethune 32, Renfroe 7
The Bethune Lions remained undefeated and started off the Region 3 schedule with a 32-7 victory over the Renfroe Bulldogs last Saturday.

The Lions (3-0, 1-0) move on to face defending region champ Stephenson (2-0, 0-0) in the 11:30 am game at Godfrey Stadium on Saturday.

Renfroe (1-2, 0-1) travels to Avondale Stadium for an 11:30 am date with Lithonia (1-2, 0-1) in Region 3 play. The Bulldogs lone touchdown against Bethune was scored by Jered “JuJu” Lester in the third quarter. Kriston Esnard added the point after try.
