Title I (CFDA: 84.010):
The Title I funds are used to provide supplemental core academic instruction, instructional support, and parental involvement and engagement to schools to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging State academic achievement standards and state academic assessments.
Title II, Part A Improving Teacher Quality – (CFDA 84.367):
The Title II Part A funds are used to increase academic achievement by providing supplemental funds to implement strategies to improve the quality of instruction and leadership, and reduce class-size. In Georgia, the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) works in partnership with the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) to administer the Title II, Part A Program that is awarded to local school districts.
To further drive the goal of improving student achievement, the Office of Federal Programs will be implementing a strong focus on Parent Engagement in FY2013-2014. An online parent survey will be developed to assist in gathering continuous feedback, and information from parents that will be used in designing and implementing purposeful engagement strategies, evaluating the effectiveness of these strategies, and promoting communication.
