Title I Summer Literacy Camp (In-Person)

The Literacy Camp model is designed to incorporate not only literacy skills (fluency, comprehension, analysis) but also engagement skills. Students will be exposed to a variety of reading opportunities that will also include read-alouds and independent reading time. Every student will have access to high quality fiction and non-fiction literature. This fun-filled camp is for our students who are currently enrolled in kindergarten, first, and :second grades during 2023-2024 school year. DATES AND TIMES:

June 17th – June 28th 2024
The camp runs Monday – Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
(No Camp on June 19th – Juneteenth Observance)

TRANSPORTATION:

Transportation will be provided; HOWEVER, bus routes will be created based on your child’s home address in Infinite Campus. If your home address falls outside of your selected site’s bus route, transportation will NOT be provided.

Bus routes will be available for review on the district website closer to the time of the camp.

If you are providing your OWN transportation, you can select and attend any of the sites on the student application.*

NUTRITION:

Students will be provided with breakfast and lunch at no cost.

RESOURCES:

Your child will have access to a variety of resources during the Literacy Camp. Children will have access to leveled texts and workbooks, which they can take home after the camp is over. They will also receive a box of school supplies (notebooks, pencils, markers, etc.). Additionally, your child will receive a free subscription to Literacy Pro, which provides them access to over 2,500 authentic, high-quality eBooks they can utilize until the beginning of the school year.
