Christian King of Martin Luther King Jr. High School is one of 250 students selected nationwide to attend the Washington Youth Summit on the Environment in June 2018 at George Mason University in Washington D.C.

The summit is hosted in partnership with the National Geographic Society and the National Zoo. King was chosen based on her academic performance and interest in environmental science. She will serve as a delegate from Georgia.

According to the summit website, High School National Youth Delegates will experience an integrated and forward-thinking approach to the environment, while acquiring valuable “in-the-trenches” knowledge. King will earn college credit going into her senior year of high school, as well as a National Youth Delegate Certificate of Merit.
