Chamblee Charter High students race their electric vehicle in regional competition.

Students at Chamblee Charter High School raced their electric vehicle against peers from across the region at the Forsyth Electrathon Rally on April 29, 2017, at the Cumming Fairgrounds.

Electrathon America is an organization where teams compete using electric vehicles in order to raise awareness of those vehicles. Chamblee Charter students earned a 9th place finish in the Forsyth race, completing 156 laps.

This was the third time students have driven the vehicle. In addition to the positive result from the race, the students will continue to apply the Design & Engineering Process methodically. The goal is to improve the performance of the vehicle’s subsystems and the integration of all systems into a high-performance vehicle.

“As always, collected lots of data and we have a list of things that need to be reexamined, redesigned, augmented, in order to continue improving our vehicle,” said lead mentor Paul Spencer.
