DCSD opens centers to aid graduates in transition to college.
The DeKalb County School District (DCSD) will open a series of Summer Transition Centers (STC) to aid recent graduates with their transition to college.
Beginning Tuesday, June 6, 2017, high schools across DCSD will have special areas staffed with professional advisors to assist Class of 2017 graduates who still have questions about what to do after high school, need help starting or completing enrollment/admissions paperwork, or just need some guidance on available options.
A complete list of Summer Transition Centers, with hours and locations, can be found below.
“The goal is to help these students make a smooth transition to their college campus in the fall,” said Manomay Malathip, executive director for student advancement.
“During the school year, students are able to seek advice and guidance from teachers, counselors, and other staff to keep them on track. But we know that need doesn’t end once students receive their diploma. We want to continue to offer resources so our graduates are well prepared to begin their college career,” said Malathip. “The centers will also be open to graduates who have questions and need guidance on the many options still available to them.”
