DeKalb County School District encourages its high school students to participate in Move On When Ready, Georgia’s dual enrollment program that enables students to earn college credits while working on their high school diplomas.

According to the Georgia Department of Education, Move On When Ready provides students in grades 9-12 the opportunity to “jump start” their post secondary education during the high school years. Students have an option to earn post secondary credit before graduating high school at little or no cost to students or their families. As importantly, students who are accepted by the postsecondary institution and approved by the school counselor or administrator will be able to begin their post secondary education. Students may take courses at night, on weekends and during the summer as well as online. DeKalb County School District recommends that interested students contact their high school counselor for details about the application process.
