Attention Educators: Apply today for a $7,500 award!

On March 28, 2017, Principal Mitchell Green of Henderson Mill Elementary School entered a jam-packed cafeteria at his school where Superintendent R. Stephen Green, as well teachers, students, and other community leaders gathered to surprise him with a $7,500 check for being the recipient of the 2017 winner Atlanta Families’ Awards for Excellence in Education.

The Atlanta Families’ Awards continues its tradition of honoring superior educators by calling for applications in its thirteenth annual contest. Each winner will receive a $7,500 award that includes $3,500 for a school project of the their choice, $1,500 for a professional development opportunity to increase effectiveness in the school or classroom, and a $2,500 personal stipend. Teachers, assistant principals, or principals can now submit an application to be in the running for the 2018 Atlanta Families’ Awards for Excellence in Education! The deadline to apply is October 20, 2017.
