Southwest DeKalb High Students Earn Scholarships to Georgia State University

Fourteen students at Southwest DeKalb High School have earned $8,000 scholarships to attend two-year programs at Georgia State University’s Decatur campus. The scholarships are funded through State Farm, which made a $14.5 million gift that will fund 50 scholarships for DeKalb high school students each year. Peachjar: Community Engagement System for Flyers

In an effort to improve parent and community engagement, DeKalb County School District (DCSD) has begun using Peachjar, an online service, to send digital flyers directly to parents. This “green” initiative will save our schools tons of paper and reduce copy costs by thousands of dollars. Five DeKalb schools recognized for raising achievement above state academic expectations.
