DCSD Middle School Football teams ranked in B2C Prime 21 Poll.

DeKalb County is standing out in middle school football with three teams ranked in the Born To Compete (B2C) Prime 21 Eighth Grade Poll released this week.

Tucker, Bethune, and Stephenson Middle Schools all got nods for the poll joining DCSD high school programs Tucker (No. 1 Class 6A), Cedar Grove (No. 1 Class 3A) and Stephenson (No. 8 Class 6A) as ranked teams from the school district.

The No. 3 ranked Tucker Tigers have been one of the elite teams in DCSD Middle School for the past five seasons winning 29 consecutive regular season games and playing in the last four Trail to the Championship title games, winning the 2013 championship.

The Tigers are 5-0 this season and 3-0 in the Region 1 standings with one last regular season region contest against rival Henderson on Saturday at Adams Stadium with kickoff set for 11:30 am. Tucker has four consecutive shutouts after allowing 14 points in a 28-14 win over Chapel Hill in the season opener.

Bethune comes in right behind Tucker in the poll at No. 4 giving DeKalb a pair of Top 10 teams. The Lions are 5-0 on the season and 3-0 in Region 4 heading into their regular season finale against Columbia at 10:00 am at Avondale Stadium on Saturday.

The Lions allowed six points against Peachtree in the season opener and 14 points to Cedar Grove in a big Region 4 game three weeks ago to take control of the region standings.

Defending Trail to the Title champions Stephenson Jaguars are the third DCSD team ranked in the poll coming in at No. 16. Stephenson is 4-1 overall on the season and 3-0 in Region 2. The only loss coming to Tucker in the second week of the season in a tight 6-0 overtime loss between the 2016 finalists.

The Jaguar defense has three shutouts to its credit this season and has allowed just 13 points total on the season. Stephenson takes on Champion (4-1, 2-1) on Saturday at 11:30 am at Hallford Stadium and a win seals the Region 2 title.
