Two schools continued undefeated hot streaks for the second straight week to lead the way among DeKalb County baseball entrants from the second week of action last week.

Coach Eric Hoxie’s Arabia Mountain Rams continued to roll, using stellar pitching to romp past Morrow (11-0) Feb. 22 and St. Pius (3-1) February 25 in improving to 4-0 overall for the year.

Coach Terrence Canty’s Miller Grove Wolverines, meanwhile, also vaulted to 4-0 overall with a 17-0 decision over McNair Feb. 23.

Columbia (4-1), Lakeside (3-1), Southwest DeKalb (2-1) and Tucker (2-1) also enjoyed winning records a week ago.

Cedar Grove received a huge offensive outing from senior Tevias Lott in a 10-7 loss to Southwest DeKalb Feb. 20. Lott went 4-4 with two runs scored and one stolen base in the defeat. Senior Emanuel Wilson and finished 3-4 with two RBI and one run scored for the Saints.

Southwest DeKalb used offensive boosts from sophomore Neiman Bruno (2-3; 3 RS) and senior Javeon Cody (2-2; 2 RS; 2 RBI) in the 10-7 victory over Cedar Grove.

The Saints came back later in the week to race past Lithonia by a 20-1 margin Feb. 24. Wilson (3-3; 4 RBI; 3 RS; 1 3B; 1 2B), senior Rashad Preston (3-4; 3 RBI; 2 RS; 1 2B) and senior Desmond Harris (2-3; 2 RS; 2 RBI) led the offensive charge, while Wilson (2 IP; WP; 1 HA; 1 SO; 2 BB) and senior Steven Harrison (1 IP; 1 RA; 1 SO; 1 BB) teamed up to allow only one hit and three walks to go along with two strikeouts on the pitching end.

Chamblee likewise used strong pitching to knock off Druid Hills by a 6-2 count Feb. 20. Senior Karl Marwitz (4 IP; WP; 2 RA; 4 HA; 5 SO; 1 BB) and junior David Albuquerque (3 IP; 3 HA; 4 SO; 1 BB) were the pitchers in question. Senior Emari Hill (3-4; 4 RBI; 2 2B) and Van Markiton (2-4) registered multiple hits on the offensive end for the Bulldogs.

Senior Reginald Merridith (1-3; 2 RBI) and junior Foday Tarawally (1-3; 2 RBI) shined at the plate for Clarkston in a 7-7 draw against Stone Mountain Feb. 22. Stone Mountain reported two players with multiple hits against Clarkston in sophomore Jacorrie Knolton (2-2; 3 RS; 1 2B; 1 SB) and junior Joshua Christian (2-2; 2 RBI; 2 2B).

Eight different players contributed two hits each for Stephenson in a 17-3 triumph over Stone Mountain Feb. 23. Senior Chretien Adams (2-4; 3 RS; 2 RBI), freshman Shane Daley (2-3; 2 RBI; 1 RS), sophomore Miles Bowens (2-2; 3 RBI; 2 RS); sophomore Nakai Briggs (2-3; 3 RBI), freshman Vincent Latimer (2-3), senior Erich Johnson (2-3; 2 RS; 1 RBI) and senior Stephen Jones (2-3; 2 RS; 2 RBI) all carved out the two hits for Stephenson in the contest. Latimer also earned the pitching triumph, allowing two hits and two runs to go along with five strikeouts and four walks over three innings.
