The Druid Hills Red Devils are making a strong run in the Region 4-4A Basketball Tournament with a berth in tonight’s championship game against Henry County set for 8:30 pm tip at Woodward Academy.
No. 2 seed Eastside was the second victim of the Red Devils as Druid Hills (12-14), the No. 6 seed, grabbed a 61-55 victory in semifinal action at Woodward last night.
Druid Hills earned a Class 4A State Tournament berth with a 56-46 victory over No. 3 seed Woodward Academy in opening round action on Tuesday.
Next up for the Red Devils is No. 1 seeded Henry County (20-5) which Druid Hills took to the wire in a 68-67 loss at home just over a week ago. A victory will give the winner the No. 1 seed heading into the state tournament, but both teams get a home game in the first round.
Consolation and championship rounds are set for Region 5-3A tonight at Redan beginning at 4:00, 5:30, 7:00 and 8:30 pm.
Region 5-5A at Miller Grove is holding its four semifinal round games beginning at 4:00 pm today with the consolation and championships being held on Saturday beginning at 4:00 pm
The Region 4-6A semifinals are tonight as well with Stephenson and Tucker facing off in both girls’ (4:00 pm) and boys’ (5:30 pm) semifinals with home playoff games on the line. The consolation round and championship games are set for Saturday beginning at 4:00 pm.
Dunwoody plays in the boys’ semifinals of the Region 7-6A Tournament tonight at 5:30 pm against Alpharetta. Consolation and championship rounds begin at 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm in boys’ play on Saturday.
