Four DeKalb schools rolled to unbeaten records to highlight local baseball action from Week 6 of the 2016 high school baseball season.

Surging Chamblee led the way, rumbling to three impressive triumphs over Stone Mountain (12-0) March 21, Stone Mountain (12-2) March 23 and Grady (7-2) March 25 by a cumulative margin of 31-4.

Coach Brian Ely’s Bulldogs have now gone 7-3 over the last 10 games to improve to 7-9 overall.

Senior Nathan Woodruff struck out 11 and allowed only one hit and one earned run in Chamblee’s key 7-2 triumph over Grady March 25. Juniors Emari Hill (3-4; 2 RS; 1 RBI), Joseph Brown (2-3; 1 RBI) and Preston Rogers (2-3; 1 RS; 1 RBI) paced a 10-hit offensive attack for the Bulldogs.

Coach Eric Hoxie’s Arabia Mountain Rams have likewise bounced back from a 1-5 start, sweeping a pair from Cross Keys (19-0 on March 21 and 24-2 on March 23) in going 2-0 last week and 4-1 over the last five games to move to 5-6 on the year.

Coach Donnie Hayes and the Lakeside Vikings kept up their season-long roll, bouncing Alcovy (15-7) March 21 and Alcovy again (10-2) March 23 to improve to 11-1 overall.

Coach Tyrus Taylor’s Southwest DeKalb Panthers remained hot as well, sandwiching decisive victories over Creekside (16-6) March 21 and Clarkston (19-0) March 25 around a 10-10 draw with Tri-Cities March 23 in going 2-0-1 on the week and moving to 12-2-1 overall.

Junior Javeon Cody posted a no-hitter for Southwest DeKalb in a 19-0 victory over Clarkston March 25, striking out five and walking two over three innings.

Sophomore Derrick Dennis tossed a three-hit shutout for Columbia in a 15-0 decision over Stone Mountain March 25, striking out three over three innings. Junior Marvin Lloyd (3-3; 6 RBI; 2 RS; 1 2B; 1 3B), sophomore Tramane Calloway (2-3; 3 RBI; 1 RS; 1 2B; 1 3B) and junior Khalil Manuel (2-2; 2 RS; 1 3B) shined brightest on the offensive end.

Druid Hills received two hits each from junior Dontravious Huff (2-3; 2 RS) and seniors Curtis Jamerson (2-3; 2 RBI; 1 RS), Austin Ledet (2-3; 2 RS; 2 RBI) and Kason Rheney (2-3; 1 RS; 1 RBI) in a wild 14-11 triumph over Stephenson March 23.

Junior Jaquez Hardy went 3-3 with four RBI in McNair’s 18-3 triumph over Washington March 23.
