McNair is sending eight wrestlers to the GHSA Traditional State Wrestling Tournament today through Saturday at the Infinite Energy Arena in Gwinnett (formerly The Arena at Gwinnett Center) to lead a group of 29 DeKalb County wrestlers who qualified through last week’s State Sectionals.

McNair had the only wrestler to qualify first out of the sectional in Muadh As-Siddiq in the 132 weight class as he went 4-0 in the State Class 3A Sectional B.

Masud As-Siddiq (113) was a second place qualifier from the sectionals while Tyrese Perdue (138) and Terry Grier (182) were both third at Sectional.

Dunwoody was the next highest qualifying group as the Wildcats put four in the Class 5A Tournament followed by Lithonia (4A), Arabia Mountain (4A) and Lakeside (6A) with three qualifying from each school.

Druid Hills (5A), Redan (4A) and Towers (3A) had two wrestlers advance to state from each school. Southwest DeKalb and Chamblee both qualified one for the state tournament.
