Tyonn Stuckey hit an off balance jumper from about 10 feet on the right side of the basket just before the final buzzer to give the Redan Raiders a thrilling 44-42 championship game victory over the host Arabia Mountain Rams at the DCSD Pre-Holiday Tournament at Arabia Mountain.

Arabia Mountain’s Darius Giles had drained a three-pointer with 25 seconds to play to knot the game at 42-42 to set up the final play for the Raiders (9-4).

Following a timeout, the Raiders inbounded against pressure from the Rams (6-7) and moved the ball up court as the clock wound down. Stuckey, the tournament MVP, drove between a pair of defenders as he moved to the right. As he dribbled between the defenders he stumbled, but with his eyes on the basket he jumped and lofted the shot towards the basket where it went through the net for the game-winner.

Arabia Mountain trailed 38-33 with 5:12 to play and had to rally twice to tie the game. Walter Cunningham’s drive for a bucket and Giles first three of the final period knotted the game at 38-38 with 3:12 to play.
